Memory of Ramadhan - Part 1

Times just run so fast. As I’m typing this it is just another 12 days, 18 hours, 51 minute 10 seconds countdown to Aidil Fitri. That means we have been fasting for 18 days. This is my 6th year of Ramadhan abroad. During my first year I was so sad to be away from my family n relatives especially when that was also the first year I celebrated Ramadhan n Eid without my beloved Mom. My dad came to our place to celebrate Eid n with the news that he’ll be getting married again. Ooh…

I will never forget those days when I always helped my mom to make cookies. Sometimes she made cookies for sales too (upon requests from some of her friends). Her speciality was pineapple tart, biskut suji, samperit n chocolate flakes n not to forget her best super delicious acar buah.

My arwah Mama is a great cook. She knew best each of her children's favourite foods. So each time when we came back for holiday, she always cooked our favourite food. During Ramadhan is the best time to make ‘special request’ of what we wanted to eat from her. Even though she’s busy working at the office, she never failed to filled up the table with all delicious scrumptious foods! I will never forget when me n my brothers were so small, we used to gather around the table waiting eagerly looking at the food for our Iftar.

Well.. that was those.. those.. days.. It will sure make us smiles when we think about our childhood memories. I miss my mom a lot. I miss ayah, my brothers n all my relatives back in Kedah. Maybe I will be able to celebrate Ramadhan n Eid with them in another 3 years time. I wish n hope that Ayah will still be around..
