A Trip to Wadi Dayqah

Today we had our opening New Year activity – barb-q picnic. We went to Wadi Dayqah at Quriyat. It is about 120km from our place. We departed from our meet point around 9.20am n reached there about 10.45am. I had been to this place two years before.

But this time everything has changed. When first arrived at the area, we were told by the people around there that the wadi has been closed. The government is in the process of building a dam there.

The Cylone Gonu had really taken a big impact at the area. Actually Quriyat Wilayat is the worst area during the disaster. The road, village n area there were totally in a devastated stage. The government has to send food n help by helicopters.

Anyway we managed to find a small wadi which is not too far from there. Well quite nice area with enough water for the kids to wet themselves. While all the man busied setting up tent, fire for the barb-q n mums unpacked foods n stuffs, the kids just can’t wait n so excited when they see the water.

The water was so cold n clear. They even found small fish n tadpole. All the big girls busied exploring the wadi while the small kids have started splashing the water. The food was good n delicious. We did enjoy our day.

Even though the water is not deep enough for us to swim n the place was not good like we went before, we still had a good time. Now we are already started planning for our next weekend activity.

You might wonder… we just can’t stay at home during weekend ah?? Hehehehe.. we just love to hang out with our family n friends while exploring more new places in Oman. Interesting ahhh…
